1956

The Aracı family migrated from Skopje, Macedonia to Turgutlu, Manisa in the 1930s.

In addition to the family grocery store, Erdoğan Aracı worked in the surrounding district markets from an early age. In the years ripe for trade and production, he began operating a small printing press in the basement of his grocery store. Not content with this, he became a partner in an existing printing press in Izmir. It was only in the early 1950s that he also dealt in paper. Thanks to his creative ideas, he began procuring and selling paper for both his own needs and those of his colleagues. His military service and his departure from the printing partnership coincided with his departure. He purchased a defunct printing press and founded the Aracılar Collective Company with his brothers in July 1956. From then on, the business grew in line with Türkiye's development and needs. The first aluminum label printing machine was imported to Türkiye, and labels that exporters had to print abroad began to be produced there. Then, he began producing wedding invitations. As the second printing press in Türkiye to begin producing invitations, Aracılar began exporting its first invitations to Arab countries in the late 1970s. A dealership network covering all provinces of Türkiye was established. While supplying paper to colleagues in addition to invitations, Aracılar acquired machinery representation from Czechoslovakia, providing hundreds of colleagues with machinery through very attractive installment plans. Meanwhile, a Polyethylene Packaging facility was established to meet packaging needs. The machinery for this facility was quite expensive and not manufactured in Türkiye. A comprehensive lathe workshop was established, producing flexographic printing machines, bag cutters, paper napkin machines, and printing staplers. A custom-printed paper napkin facility also began operations. Around the same time, Aracılar began producing the first mesh cardboard box edges for fresh fruit and vegetable exporters in Türkiye. As one of the first printing houses in Izmir to use offset printing machines, Aracılar acquired a UV varnish machine and began using it in the 1980s. Following losses in the 1990s, the company was divided among family members. In 1994, Erdoğan Aracı and his family purchased one of the largest cardboard packaging facilities in Istanbul at the time. They moved it to İzmir in 1995 and combined it with their existing printing press, creating the largest printing press in the Aegean Region. Aracılar continues its operations with an open mind and aims to reach its centennial.
